..: Universe and Plot :..

The universe is an alternative Eastern Europe called « The Continent of the Eastern Lands ».

What does it mean ? Well, it's simple and complicated as the same time !

The area has many realistic characteristics but it remains an imaginary novel. Some countries evoked are real, but most of the places are fictional. Even « Valachie » (Wallachia - which really existed and now exists as a region in Romania) was totally revisited in its geography, History and so on. I wanted a total freedom, and yet a credible aspect for the novel.

It's a sort of « mix » between reality and imagination, with various influences (Middle Ages of course, but also Roman Antiquity)

In the Eastern Lands, let's say there are 5 "key" countries which are the following : Wallachia (king : Victor), Horganthie (Grand Prince : Jenci), Andalis (Prince : Elgor), Molrachie (under Wallachian domination, so king : Victor), and Silesia (king : Alean).

The plot is about the rise of Wallachia through the ambition of king Victor, who wishes to crush his ancestral ennemy (Horganthie) to get the revenge of an antic defeat. However, some weird and frightening events occur on the day Victor becomes king, as if an old legend was calling for him. But what for ? To help him, or to bring his doom ?

The novel deals with various themes including blood links, oaths, influence of past, myths and folklore, politics, war, friendship, mystery, love and other human relationships, revenge, values & ideals... and a hint or erotism ;)
